Imported Chocolates

Imported chocolates are still more sought after than those that are made in the US, what is it that makes imported chocolates so unique?

Imported Chocolates

If you are looking for a fine gourmet chocolate, one that is sure to please even the most refines palate, then you most likely turn to imported chocolates. Whatever your fancy in terms of chocolate, you find some of the best that is produces in the world, you just have a harder time finding it outside of Europe. American chocolates just cannot compare to the pleasures that come from imported chocolates.

The joy of imported chocolates

The main reason why most imported chocolates are so much better in terms of quality than their counterparts in the United States is that the quality of the ingredients that go into American chocolate are generally far inferior to those that go into imported chocolates. In the American market it is preferable to have quantity over quality, this does also help keep the price of the final product down to a minimum. But you have to eat much more of the American product than you would of fine chocolate to get the same satisfaction. Many people are willing to pay more for imported chocolates because you simply cannot get the same experience from a lesser quality chocolate.

European chocolate is also more selective with the type of beans that go into the first stages of the chocolate production. Beans are chosen for their quality and their flavor and are often combined to make just the right balance. They are then roasted at low temperatures for a long time. This results in a very smooth chocolate liquor that does not need much sugar to be palatable. On the other hand, the American chocolate manufacturer is not as concerned with what kind of bean they are using and they take a different approach to making their liquor. Instead they roast the beans at very high temperatures for a short period of time, which results in a very bitter liquor. That bitterness then has to masked by a lot of sugar and corn syrup. Which would you rather have?
