Chocolate Chips

Tired of using chocolate chips for only one standard recipe? Want to venture beyond the traditional cookie? Why not mix things up a bit and serve your family a delicious and unique dessert? The kids will love that you've used chocolate chips and the adults are sure to appreciate a new take on a traditional idea. Get started now on this wonderful Chocolate Chip Banana Pudding!

Here's what you'll need:

1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 ripe bananas
6 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
chocolate sauce

And here are the simple directions:

Prepare a steamer if you have one, if not, fill a saucepan halfway full of water and bring to the boil. Grease a 4 cup pudding mold.
Process all the ingredients using a food processor, except the chocolate chips. After mixing it well, then stir in the chocolate chips .
Spoon the mixture into the mold and cover with two layers of aluminum foil. Steam for 2 hours, replacing the water when and if you need to.
Run a knife around the top of the pudding to loosen it up and then invert it onto a serving dish. Serve while it's still nice a warm with a bit of chocolate syrup and some whipped cream.

This is a very simple dish to prepare, but it can also be quite an elegant dessert. The only thing you will have to consider is the cooking time. Make sure to time it so that by the time dinner is finished, the pudding is done. This way you can serve it fresh and hot. Remember, this is definitely not a dieter's dream! You can expect to get about 540 calories from it, 38% of which come from fat!
