Gift Boxes Of Chocolate Chips

Need to give a gift to the baker who has everything? Why not give the gift of chocolate chips? With so many varieties of chocolate chips available, all it takes is a little creativity and you can make gift boxes of chocolate chips for everyone on your gift list (if they like to bake).

Making Gift Boxes of Chocolate Chips
All you really need to do to make a nice gift box is hit your local party goods store. They'll have gift boxes you can buy in various sizes that range in price from $1-$4 each. Get some, fill them with confetti or paper shreds and add your chocolate chips, and you'll have several gift boxes of chocolate chips to give at Christmas or for birthdays or other gift-giving occasions.

When it comes to filling your gift boxes of chocolate chips, use different varieties. Semi-sweet is the most commonly bought type of chocolate chip, but milk chocolate chips also make a great cookie. There are also dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and even gourmet chocolate chips. See's Candies make a good semi-sweet chocolate chip. They are sold in 1-pound bags at www.chocolate.com. Another good gourmet chocolate chip is Ghirardelli. They make four varieities--Classic White Chips, Double Chocolate Chips, Milk Chocolate Chips and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. Just imagine the look on the gift recipient's face when they open gift boxes of chocolate chips that have four varieties of Ghirardelli chocolate chips!

And speaking of variety, we would be remiss if we didn't mention that chocolate chips come in flavors other than chocolate. Hershey and Nestle has cornered the market on this. Hershey has Rasperry Chips, Butterscotch Chips, Minichips Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, Cinnamon Chips, Premier White Chips and Mint Chips in addition to the traditional Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, Milk Chocolate Chips and Special Dark Chocolate Chips. They've also made chips based on their candy line, such as Reese's Peanut Butter Chips, Reese's Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate Chips, Heath Toffee Bits and Heath Milk Chocolate Toffee Bits. Nestle's varieties outside of Semi-Sweet Morsels and Milk Chocolate Morsels include Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Morsels, Chocolate Chunks, Mini Morsels, Butterscotch Morsels, Premier White Morsels, and Swirled Morsels that come in white chocolate, caramel and peanut butter.

With so many options in chocolate (and not-so-chocolate) chips, just imagine the fun you'll have making and giving gift boxes of chocolate chips. Just be sure to include some recipes!
