Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

When it comes to chocolate chip cookie recipes, do you think they're all the same? Since the end result is pretty much the same, you'd think that most chocolate chip cookie recipes are the same, but there are some with unique ingredients that give a twist to an old favorite or just turn ordinary chocolate chip cookies into something really special! Check out the following chocolate chip cookie recipes and see if you notice the differences that make them special. We'll start with this recipe from Baker's that's out of this world!

Baker's One Bowl Chocolate Bliss Cookies
2 packages (8 squares each) Baker's Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, divided
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, slightly softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 cups chopped walnuts

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Coarsely chop 8 of the chocolate squares; set aside.
3. Microwave remaining 8 chocolate squares in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min., stirring after 1 minute. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
4. Add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla; stir until well blended.
5. Add flour and baking powder; mix well.
6. Stir in chopped chocolate and walnuts. (If omitting nuts, increase flour to 3/4 cup to prevent excessive spreading of cookies as they bake.)
7. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
8. Bake 12 to 13 min. or until cookies are puffed and shiny. Cool 1 minute, then remove from baking sheets to wire racks. Cool completely.

You'll notice that this recipe uses semi-sweet chocolate squares instead of chips, but the other ingredients are similar.

We all know that Mrs. Fields makes a great chocolate chip cookie. Check out her original recipe:

Mrs. Fields Original Chocolate Chip Cookies
First, preheat your oven to 350. Next cream together 2 cups of butter (do NOT use margarine), 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of brown sugar, 4 beaten eggs and 2 tablespoons of vanilla.

In a seperate bowl, mix together 4 cups of flour and 5 cups of oatmeal that's been put in a blender first until it's a powdery consistency. To this mixure, add 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 2 teaspoons baking soda. Then add 24 ounces (2 bags) of chocolate chips and a grated 8-oz. chocolate bar.

Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Spoon out golfball-sized cookie dough balls onto the baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 11 minutes.
